So this headshot uses a medium grey background, neutral. It is serious and confident, but not too serious and stern. It is still professional without being imposing or intimidating. The body posture, lighting and background style exudes confidence. What works well about this headshot is a darker man in a daker suit, but without the photo coming out too dark and murky.
A lot of other photographers would have let the darker side of his face be too dark and that would make him feel more menacing and intimidating. We're not trying to depict Batman, after all -- just a confident and respected CEO. He needs to possess the right energy and attitude - a man of action that has consideration behind the decisions he makes. You need to feel confident following in his leadership.
I say this to convey that your photo is not just some random image, but it SAYS SOMETHING about you and what it is like to do business with you.
