The body posture, lighting and background style exudes confidence. What works well about this headshot is a darker man in a daker suit, but without the photo coming out too dark and murky.
A lot of other photographers would have let the darker side of his face be too dark and that would make him feel more menacing and intimidating. We're not trying to depict Batman, after all -- just a confident and respected CEO. He needs to possess the right energy and attitude - a man of action that has consideration behind the decisions he makes. You need to feel confident following in his leadership.
